Hey there!!

Just got back from Seattle with Jeffy and Julien which was a KILLER program!! One of the best we've ever run.

Some pics from the event......

www.instagram.com/rsdtyler
(I'd suggest you FOLLOW me on Instagram if you want to be kept in the loop! Do it now!)

And I'm psyched to be releasing the video that's going to be the pillar of the upcoming Self Development company today, which I believe will make some pretty serious history in the coming decades.

The concept is called "The Narrow Road".

I talk about how modern society performs the function of being a "Yes Man" that tells you what you want to hear, distancing you both from the feedback necessary to do what you need to do, as well as limiting you in a prison of your own mind.

This is a video that I've had brewing in my head for several years now and a topic I consider in my daily life every few minutes, but I kept imagining how epic it would be when I finally released it.

Over time I realized that much like PICKUP you have to make some half hearted approaches initially to get the hang of it, and eventually build up the skill to GET IT RIGHT. The concepts that have the most meaning to me are too complex to properly explain on the first few tries, so I've got to try and try again to refine the ideas and get people to see them as vividly as I do myself.

So similar to the "Success and failure spirals" video, which is also a concept I'm very proud of, I decided to do a REASONABLY GOOD video on this topic and just get it out into the world.

Then over time I can think about where I went right and wrong, and likely expand the concept into a proper 2 hour documentary and get really deep with it.

Anyway I'm psyched for you to see it today, and if you follow our stuff for the next few decades you can recall this as a day that I reached a turning point as far as having the balls to release the content that really scares me.

I've actually got about 6 months worth of videos pre-recorded, many of which are more practical game related concepts, and many that go deeper. And over the next few months I plan on going really deep as far as continuing to build my "newbie material for dummies" as well as my most advanced ideas.

As far as teaching pickup goes, I'm looking to finish up STRONG.

TODAY'S NEW VID!

So today's video was shot a few months ago in Yosemite, and it's a crazy coincidence that they're having some serious fire issues over there right now.

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1027484?hpt=hp_bn1
Hopefully it's going to be properly contained and not too damaging, and in the meantime I've shot this video all over the park.

Going there was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and I hope that you enjoy it as well.

Like I mentioned, the topic is one that will be the backbone of the upcoming self development company -- which as I also mentioned, the reason I've been going SO FUCKING HARD with pickup is to finish it out strong.

I need another 2 or 3 years to get RSD fully functioning as the pickup company that I originally envisioned it, which means that it will have been about a 13 year project.

I'm not sure how much I'll be teaching live programs during that time, but I should be keeping a decent stack of them in the coming year, which will allow me to keep travelling and doing pick up related Free Tours and video blogs.

Having completed that my goal will be to turn to the material that will consume my time over the next three or four decades, which will involve further cultivating my talents towards leaving the legacy that I truly want to create.

I'm at a point where little else in my life hits my radar other than seeing it done.

I tend to alternate between a headspace of being present and then feeling inspired by these ideas (and also thinking about girl on girl - this ongoing porn that plays on the reel of my mind). I feel like I'm already dead, and like some weird reverberation of myself is being temporarily left behind in the world to get this done.

Once it's done, I'll be ready to go... :)

Obviously I have practical day to day life issues to handle as well, like being a good father, getting laid, eating great food, enriching my mind, and having fun.

And then there's that lower petty part of myself that just wants to STUNT in the faces of everyone who tried to stop me from accomplishing what I've been set here to do. :)

So as a human being, I enjoy the experience of osscilating through different states of mind, and have in recent years tended to stay more towards the higher set of aspirations the majority of the time.

Strangely like I alluded to, another worldly pursuit that has inspired me in the past year has been my passion for girl on girl. I realize this sounds comical or bizarre, but I feel that one of my other reasons for being alive is to get girls to have sex with eachother (and me...) and this inspires me to work harder and be a better man.

Any time I feel depressed or frustrated I imagine a better future of more girl on girl, and it puts an immediate smile on my face. Images of this flash into my mind throughout the day every day to the point of it being a mild obsession, but that will be the topic of future videos as well. ;)

Anyway let's crack into the video, and you can enjoy this introduction to a new set of ideas......

CLICK THIS VIDEO RIGHT NOW TO DISCOVER THE POWER OF THE "NARROW ROAD"!

Hope you enjoyed this, and like I mentioned at the end of the vid, this topic really requires a PROPER treatment to make you see the ideas beyond the surface, and the way I personally live and process them.

Yes you can understand it CONCEPTUALLY but there's a deeper INTERNAL SHIFT that has to truly take place to know that you have understood.

THAT is what I need to learn to convey.

The big thing I learned from this video as well as "Success and failure spirals" is that yes, I can create something really cool with the mulitiple shot vblog style, but these topics will ultimately require me to innovate an entirely new format of semi documentary style videos to get hte ideas across.

The cool thing about this?

Just like how when you first start doing APPROACHES you learn what you're actually missing, the fact I'm beginning to take a bit of action if revealing the areas I'm inadequate and are providing me a direction in which to improve.

btw here's the notes from the vid...
Intro...
-War of Independence decentralizing power, so the common man could be his own ruler
-Much like monarch's, this also results in people being told "what they want to hear" and being surrounded by Yes men.
-I learned this from living with Courtney Love
-Group think is one example of people being told what they want to hear, easy truths, lack of complexity, lack of having to truly understand

Examples of unconsciousness...
-High carb meals like pizza
-Anti depressants
-Gasoline and paint huffing native community is an extreme version
-Repetitive work that requires no higher thinking

Examples of overstimulation...
-Facebook and Twitter
-Tabloid headlines: "secret, revealed, rampage, went crazy, drama, meltdown, affair, scandal, reality tv, soap operas, romance novels, "
-Headlines that defame someone, while never putting as much attention on when they are vindicated because it's less stimulating
-Amping up the mob by accusing others of violating social norms, without ever looking at the entire picture
-Energy drinks and stimulants
-Pharmaceutical pills that mask symptoms and don't force us to address emotional blockages, living with passion, sleep deprivation, bad food, and a sedentary lifestyle
-Instant gratification / instant results
-Ego gratification
-Simple truths

Why society does this...
-You do not reward people for telling you the truth
-Politicians are not elected by talking about complexities, they are elected by pumping the masses with a simple tagline that they want to hear.
-Products don't sell by telling the good and the bad of what they're realistically like, they're sold by paying celebrities to endorse them.
-Quality products also often get us to question our beliefs, and disturb our state of overstimulation or apathy, and simple truths
-The margins are too low on high quality products. McDonalds can make billions and use it or marketing, whereas health foods seem absurd. It's weirder to walk down the street eating a cucumber than a bag of chips.
-People reward those who offer them ways not to think, the the promise of magic pills.

Examples of magic pills...
-Give someone a stimulant diet pill that works by causing heart palpitations and making them jitter all day, or offer them a lap band of gastric bypass surgery to force you not to eat, and this is preferred over the years of self discipline required to make a total lifestyle change.
-Take the cheapest meat possible, slather it in HFCS, and it will taste better than a fine rib eye
-Take stimulants that deliver instant energy and cost nothing, these are better than ginseng or reishi mushroom or organic vegetables, that offer clean energy and focus.
-A pharmaceutical that instantly covers symptoms is more highly paid for than the bitter truth that you have to change 20 different aspects of your life
-An "ab roller" is easier to sell than a diet that demands a change of lifestyle that uncovers your abs and takes years
-Glamorize plastic surgery as a privilege of the rich over natural life extending health foods and improving your own self image from the inside, and this will sell.

Examples of clean present focus...
-Clean foods
-Challenging yourself
-Following your passions
-Higher values such as honesty, integrity, seeking first to understand then to be understood, working synergistically with others
-The feeling of accomplishment and being the person you're meant to be

Why we can't focus anymore...
-We've lost the ability to receive that type of energy
-If you eat brocolli after being accustomed to Coca Cola, you get a headache
-If you read a great book while being accustomed to reality TV you want to take a nap
-We've been marketed so many magic pill products that we think if we DO fall off the narrow road, it'll only take a little while to get back on.
-In reality, it takes YEARS to build a work ethic, YEARS to cultivate the abilty to apprecaite and absorb clean present energy.
-We're sold on a lifestyle of instant gratification and false happiness for so long, when we finally hear about the real happiness of enjoying the journey and being the person we're meant to be, it doesn't even sound worth pursuing.
-We think that being a boss means getting respect and bossing people around, but when we discover it's a process of self mastery and often making hard decisions that make you disliked, it sounds like it sucks.
-For most people, the leverage simply isn't there.

Why we lose our way...
-We can't get enough of what we don't want
-We can't taste the subtle flavors in healthy food
-We can't taste the subtle presence in meditation or higher consciousness activities
-Replace an orange with flavored kool aid,
-We are not taught to place value on a higher level of ethics, it seems boring and unappealing
-We're sold bullshit stories about how real accomplishment is done that keeps us down (hip hop culture)

How to come back to the narrow road...
-Take a period of de-stimulation.
-Realize that clean food will taste better
-Realize that enjoying the journey and being the person you're meant to be is the bigger satisfaction
-Continually put leverage on yourself to get back on the narrow road
-Focus on how it will make your life amazing, celebrate the small improvements, and

This video is *hysterical* - like super duper funny, and yet contains a lot of profound content about the "yes man" narrative as well.

At the first the you watched it there would have been a surface level of meaning, but seen through the lens of how society affects people that we discussed above, it should provide a new level of meaning today.
